Hoarding Cleanup & Heavy Clutter Removal

Discreet, respectful, judgment-free help clearing heavily cluttered homes — at a pace that works for the person who lives there.

No Judgment. Ever.

If you're reading this page, you might be worried about your own home. You might be worried about a parent, sibling, or friend. Either way, the first thing to know is this: we're not here to judge anyone. Clutter builds up for real reasons, including grief, illness, depression, injury, financial stress, aging, and life simply getting overwhelming. Hoarding disorder is a recognized mental health condition, not a character flaw.

Red Top Scoopers provides discreet hoarding cleanup and heavy clutter removal across Cartersville, Bartow County, Northwest Georgia, and Metro Atlanta. Our job is the physical part: the lifting, hauling, and clearing. We do it quietly, respectfully, and at whatever pace makes sense.

How We Approach Heavy Clutter Jobs

  • Discretion. We're a junk removal crew. To neighbors, it looks like any other cleanout.
  • The resident leads. When the person living in the home is involved, they decide what stays and what goes. We don't throw things out behind anyone's back.
  • Pacing. Some clients want it done in one push. Others need to go a room or a corner at a time, over multiple visits. Both are fine.
  • Safety awareness. Heavily cluttered homes can have blocked exits, unstable piles, and hidden damage. We work carefully and flag anything you should know about.
  • Look-outs for valuables. Important papers, cash, photos, and keepsakes often turn up mixed in. We set them aside.

Working Alongside the Right Support

For hoarding disorder specifically, clearing the house alone usually doesn't solve the problem. Without support, clutter often comes back, and forced cleanouts can be deeply distressing for the person involved. Mental health professionals who specialize in hoarding recommend gradual, collaborative approaches. We're glad to work alongside a therapist, social worker, case manager, or professional organizer if one is involved.

If you're a family member, the International OCD Foundation has resources on hoarding disorder and on how to help a loved one. Our guide on clutter and mental health talks more about the connection between our spaces and how we feel.

When a Cleanout Is Urgent

Sometimes there isn't much time. A property may need to be sold, a lease is ending, a code enforcement notice has arrived, or a loved one has passed away and left a heavily cluttered home. In those cases we can move quickly. We'll still treat the home and its contents with respect. See also our estate and foreclosure cleanout service.

What We Can and Can't Handle

We can remove furniture, boxes, bags, papers, clothing, household items, trash, and general clutter of all kinds. We can't handle biohazards, such as significant amounts of animal waste, human waste, or blood, or hazardous chemicals. Those situations need a certified biohazard or crime-scene cleaning company. If we see something like that, we'll tell you honestly and help point you toward the right service. More on what we can't take.

Talk It Through First

Every heavy clutter job is different, so we start with a conversation. Call or text 404-649-4654. Tell us as much or as little as you're comfortable with. Photos help, but they aren't required to start. You'll get an upfront quote before any work begins.
