Junk Removal FAQ

Are You Licensed & Insured? (And How to Check Anyone)

Yes, we are. But you shouldn't have to take anyone's word for it, so here's how to vet any junk removal company before you hire them.

The Short Answer

Yes. Red Top Scoopers LLC is fully licensed and insured for every job we take on. Read more about what that protects you from.

Why This Question Matters More Than People Think

Plenty of haulers say "licensed and insured" in their ads. The phrase costs nothing to type. The real question is how you can tell, and what happens if you hire someone who isn't.

A Checklist for Vetting Any Junk Removal Company

Use this whether you hire us or someone else:

1. Is it a real, registered business?

Look for a business name, not just a first name and a phone number. In Georgia you can search registered businesses through the Georgia Secretary of State's online business search.

2. Do they carry insurance?

A legitimate business should be able to tell you about its insurance coverage. If you're a property manager or business, you may want a certificate of insurance before work begins.

3. Do they have real reviews?

Check Google reviews and social media. Look for consistent, specific reviews over time, not a handful of vague five-star posts from the same week.

4. Will they give an upfront price?

Be cautious of anyone who won't give you a price until the job is done. See our upfront pricing.

5. Where does the junk go?

Ask. A legitimate company uses landfills, transfer stations, donation centers, and recycling facilities. A suspiciously low price can mean the load is getting dumped illegally on a back road.

6. Do they show up when they say they will?

Communication before the job is a preview of how the job will go.

Red Flags

  • Cash only, with no receipt
  • No business name, website, or online presence
  • A price that's dramatically lower than everyone else's
  • Pressure to decide immediately
  • Vague answers about insurance or disposal

Why It Protects You

If an uninsured hauler damages your home, you may have no recourse. If illegally dumped junk gets traced back to you, it can become your problem. Hiring a licensed, insured, accountable company avoids both.
